KCC has come a long way since starting out as a small-scale housing property developer in 1983. From humble, local beginnings in Muar, KCC is now one of south Malaysia’s leading companies with ambitions to expand further north. The company has branched out into other areas such as quarrying, with the aim of becoming self-sufficient while continuing to provide value-for-money housing and beautiful homes for thousands of Malaysian residents.

And the company has no intention of letting the grass grow under its feet, as it seeks to scale even greater heights in the years to come with the aim of being recognised as a reputable, reliable and preferred housing developer.

One such stunning development is Verge 32 at Melawati, a town in the Ulu Klang district of Gombak, Selangor, and around 16km from the centre of Kuala Lumpur. Perched on a hilly terrain, offering majestic vistas of Kemensah’s ridgeline, Verge 32 is a tranquil residential masterpiece surrounded by low-density, exclusive residential communities. The complex has 32 homes of varying sizes: There are 12 two-storey properties and 20 three storey homes. Ten of the two-storey buildings are semi-detached, as are 16 of the three-storey ones. The other six houses – which KCC refer to as bungalows – all have their own private gardens and two have private pools, while Verge 32 is situated close to a number of schools and shopping centres, as well as the local hospital.

The development’s layout is divided into four key rows, each alternating between two and three-storey homes. This was done to prevent the two-storey premises from being obstructed by the taller buildings. And the philosophy works extremely well, with the undulating terrain allowing every single home a clear view of the wonderful hilly surroundings. The largest of the properties – a three storey bungalow – covers 6,180 square feet. Inside all of the bungalows, the living and dining areas, along with the dry kitchen, form an open-plan layout, to emphasise a sense of minimalism, lightness and easy movement. All of the semi-detached properties have balconies and a large ground level space for parking cars.

Both the two and three-storey homes have four bedrooms and four bathrooms, while all of the properties at Verge 32 enjoy a modern design and layout that includes powder coated aluminum windows, timber doors, quality ironmongery and a reinforced concrete framework. Stainless steel plays a major role in all of the bathrooms, while a solar heater, CCTV, intercom and panic button are additional features. As for outside the properties’ built-up area, KCC’s design team has worked its magic to create a wonderful residential complex with pockets of tall trees, manicured leafage and grassy lawns. The aim of the development, which is spread over 5.4 acres, was to conserve the existing landform as much as possible and include a rainwater harvesting system. The site is overlooked by the Kemensah forest reserve and stunning mountain scenery, and is gated and guarded by multi-tiered security.
